Update regarding meeting regarding possible changes to the Springfield Processing and Distribution Center

Below is a link for the fact sheet from USPS that was obtained by Mayor Chris Reichert when he attended the meeting for the possible closing of the Springfield Processing and Distribution Center. Earlier this month we provided you with the Union’s fact sheet and thought it only fair to present the USPS fact sheet also for the residents of Athens to have all perspectives.
While in attendance the Mayor was able to address the concerns that many residents are experiencing with the local mail delivery service. When he spoke with USPS officials he was advised that they would look into our concerns and will follow up.
We will keep you informed of how these changes will affect mail delivery for our community as we receive them.
